My main work is to design outdoor courses and programmes. These combine psychotherapeutic processes with outdoor education to cultivate leadership and action for ecological sustainability. My programmes work on the principle that all significant social change throughout history has arisen out of the deep personal commitment of a dedicated leader.
I facilitate personal and small group processes in wild places to support an opening out of the sense of self. This leads to the realisation that, ultimately, the self is defined by its relationships – with other people and the rest of nature. Gaining an embodied experience of this interconnection creates personal transformation and provides the ‘ground’ for authentic leadership and activism.
Over the years I have designed programmes from a half day to six months in duration, and for up to 120 people at a time. These have taken place in forests, on beaches, on skis, up mountains, on boats and in gardens, world-wide.
If you would like me to design a leadership for sustainability programme for you, or support your team in designing their own project, thenĀ email me.
